This is my first post on here. So first welcome to our blog. We decided to hit rainbow res for some smallmouth action on sunday due to candlewood being far away and packed on weekends and the housy being full of people with no clue. Well it was a good call. It was cloudy with some showers but we were the only boat out there most of the day. We tossed out jerk baits all day. First fish came off of a down tree and too our surprise it was a nice calico. Next cast same spot a largemouth. Few cast later a smallie. We started to figure out the pattern. The fish with the water temps now up too 57 degrees are moved all the way up too the shore lines and definitely holding to cover.
Josh gets hit on his xrap hard and has a good fight going and looks down and see's another one chasing him so i threw in my smithwick jerkbait and bam. Double hookup. This ended up happening again a little later in the day.
We fished from 10am to 4pm and caught a total of 11 smallmouth 1 largemouth and 2 nice calico's. It is a beautiful body of water up there with crystal clear water. It was only our second time there, but i have a feeling were gonna be back sooner than later.

We used these two lures most the day-
:Smithwick 5 inch jerkbait / shinny gold with red face
:Xrap 5 inch / silver black and red
